Amazon's new Fire TV is tiny and HDR
2025-04-27 16:44:09

Amazon's new Fire TV is so small it can hang off your TV, but it's packed with more technology than any of Amazon's previous set-top boxes.

In addition to 4K video, the all-new Fire TV supports HDR video, Dolby Atmos audio technology, and can support 2160p video at 60 fps, which may add a level of ultra-realism to your TV-viewing experience.

Like its predecessor, the new Fire TV still has those ultra-sharp edges, but now the HDMI cable is built into the device so it can plug in and hang off the back of your HDTV. This set-up will be familiar to anyone who has ever owned or seen a Google Chromecast streaming device.

Amazon Fire TV will ship with the voice remote for $69. For anyone who wants to extend the voice services of Fire TV, Amazon will be offering a $79.99 bundle that throws in an Amazon Echo Dot.

The company also revealed that its been working with almost a dozen cable and broadcast networks to integrate Alexa voice services into their Fire TV apps.
